Our teacher – VENERABLE SABCHU RINPOCHÉ
Ven. Sabchu Rinpoché is a contemporary Tibetan Buddhist teacher, born and raised in Nepal, and active in overseeing the activities of the Karma Kagyu monastery in Swayambhu.
Recognized by the late 14th Shamar Rinpoché, Sabchu Rinpoché moved to the Swayambhu monastery at an early age and began studying Tibetan language and the fundamental practices of the KarmaKamtsang lineage.
He received many empowerments, reading transmissions, and instructions from great masters of the Kagyu lineage and from many other qualified meditation masters. He spent one year practicing Chöd in Pharping.
Starting at the age of eighteen, he did a three-year retreat in Pharping under the guidance of Maniwa Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoché.
Afterwards, he began traveling and teaching in Europe and North America, completing a Bachelor’s degree in Film and Media Production in Canada. Rinpoché now divides his time between personal retreat, as well as teaching in Asia and Europe.

WHO WE ARE
Düntsam Community e.V. mainly organizes annual 7-days Retreats that are guided by venerable Sabchu Rinpoché, where one can learn the depth of meditation according to the ancient indic tradition, as well as according to the precious Karma Kagyü lineage, Tibetan Buddhism. We trust in Sabchu Rinpoché who guides us through our Düntsam Retreats to make use of the precious opportunity to take part in such a retreat, and to share this opportunity with others who have he good conditions to be able to join in.
How it started
For the year 2017, the first Düntsam was arranged by a group of students from Geislingen, Germany. It took place in the serene, beautiful countryside of Lenzkirch, Germany.
How it continued
Since then many Düntsam have taken place in many different places. In the recent years the location of Choice has been the Pospolu Resort near Prague.

Jeta Garden – A project in Karlovy Vary near Prague where some hectares of land were acquired and a big Gompa and meditation center is currently built under the guidance of Sabchu Rinpoché. The Jeta Garden association also hosts weekly online Shiné sessions that are monthly joined by Sabchu Rinpoché (see Rinpoché’s schedule)
Nala – A big center near Prague dedicated to Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoché hosting Dharma teachings and also Tibetan medicine in the near future.
Manjushri-Center, Geislingen – A small center with direct connection to Nepal hosting several teachers and practitioners of Tibetan medicine. Also the starting point of the Düntsam community.
Dhagpo-Möhra – Big Dharma center in the heart of Germany under the guidance of non other than His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa.
