Starting at the age of eighteen, he did a three-year retreat in Pharping under the guidance of Maniwa Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoché.

THE COMMUNITY

WHO WE ARE
Düntsam Community brings together international people from all walks of life. What we have in common is an appreciation for the teachings of the precious Karma Kagyü lineage, trust in Sabchu Rinpoché who guided us through our first Düntsam Retreat in 2017, and most of all the eagerness to make use of the precious opportunity to take part in such a retreat, and to share this opportunity with other who have he good conditions to be able to join in.
FOR THE TIME BEING
Various indivuals from this community have in the past and will in the future be helping to create the kind of opportunity for teaching and practice that we cherish. Moving Düntsam is not fixed to a location. It will go where the eagerness to practice crystallizes into a suggestion for a suitable location.
Although the effort of planning and registering the participants lies in the hand of just a small team, there are a lot of ways of contributing by bringing things that are needed for creating a sanctuary wherever it is that we have decided to do the retreat, helping others to get to the location etcetera and finally, once at the location, everyone is part of the team in helping with whatever is needed.
HOW IT STARTED
For the year 2017, the first Düntsam was arranged by a group of students from Geislingen, Germany. It took place in the serene, beautiful countryside of Lenzkirch, Germany.
The 2018 Düntsam will be taking place in the Austrian Alps, 2019 will take us to the Baltic Sea, thus the term Moving Düntsam is a precise and simple name for the on-going event.
